BY CAR:

TRAFFIC INFORMATION:

There is major roadworks around the Festival area in Cheltenham leading out of the centre on the A4013.  There is also major roadworks on the A40 around Gloucestershire.  It would be advisable to give yourself a bit of extra time if you are planning to use either of these two routes.  We don't want you to be late...

From London:

M4 out of London to Junction 15. A419 to Cirencester which becomes the A417. Join the M5 at Junction 11a for one Junction. Leave at Junction 11. Head towards Cheltenham, at the Golden Valley roundabout take the fourth exit signed Up Hatherley. At the next roundabout take the first left signed Hatherley into Hatherley Lane. Cheltenham Film Studios is 200m up, third turning on the left.

From Bristol:

Travel North on the M5 until Junction 11. Head in towards Cheltenham on the A40. In a mile or so there is a roundabout, take the fourth exit signposted Up Hatherley. Shortly afterwards there is another roundabout. Take the first left signed Hatherley into Hatherley Lane. Cheltenham Film Studios is 200m up on the left.

From Birmingham:

M5 South to Junction 11. Head in towards Cheltenham on the A40. In a mile or so there is a roundabout, take the fourth exit signposted Up Hatherley. Shortly afterwards there is another roundabout. Take the first left signed Hatherley into Hatherley Lane. Cheltenham Film Studios is 200m up on the left.

Parking at the Festival:

Please note there is no parking on the Festival Site.  We have arranged with the neighbouring Thistle Hotel, Travelodge and Cheltenham Regency that we can utilise their car parks.  If you park on site you will be asked to park in one of the available parking sites. 

BY RAIL:

A number of rail links serve Cheltenham Spa train station. Check out the National Rail website for timetable and train information - www.nationalrail.co.uk or call them on 08457 484950 (from overseas: +44 (0)20 7278 5240). Alternatively have a look at www.thetrainline.com or www.virgintrains.co.uk. From Cheltenham Spa train station, Cheltenham Film Studios is a 5-10 minute drive. A local Stagecoach bus, no. 94, goes every 10 minutes from Lansdown Road just around the corner from the station (see 'Getting Around Locally' for more details). Numerous taxis are also available at the station (also see 'Getting Around Locally').

BY BUS:

A number of National Express routes serve Cheltenham. Royal Well bus station in the centre of the town. Search for your route at: www.gobycoach.com or call the National Express dedicated booking line: 08705 808080. From Royal Well bus station, Cheltenham Film Studios is a 10-15 minute drive. A local Stagecoach bus, no. 94, goes every 10 minutes from The Promenade in Cheltenham just next to Royal Well bus station (see local travel info for more details). Numerous taxis are also available at the bus station (also see local travel info below)

BY AIR:

Both Birmingham and Bristol International Airports offer a range of national and international flight services. Continental Airlines has direct flights between New York, USA, and both Bristol and Birmingham International Airports (see www.continental.com). There are also direct flights to all major European cities. Visit the following websites for more information:

From Bristol and Birmingham there are good bus and rail links to Cheltenham which take between 40 minutes and 1 hour. If you’d like to find out about direct taxi services go to ‘Getting Around Locally’.

GETTING AROUND LOCALLY:

Local Bus service Stagecoach no. 94. This service runs from Cheltenham Town centre (The Promenade) to Gloucester via the Cheltenham Film Studios area every 10 minutes. The Promenade is just around the corner from Royal Well bus station. It also stops on Lansdown Road, just by the train station. The stop to get off at is ‘GCHQ Benhall, Gloucester Road’. From there it is a leisurely 5 minute walk to the main entrance of Cheltenham Film Studios on Hatherley Lane.
