In a progression to get the people of Cheltenham and Gloucestershire more invloved in the Festival this year we have a series of four public events that will be held at the end of day.

Musical Magic - with the Writer and Director of Mamma Mia! Tuesday 27th October, 7pm Cheltenham Ladies' College Catherine Johnson and Phyllida Lloyd, the writer and director of last summer's smash hit musical sensation Mamma Mia! lead us through some choice moments from their favourite Movie musicals! BAFTA Rocliffe - New Writing Forum Wednesday 28th October, 7pm Cheltenham Ladies' College BAFTA and Rocliffe bring their touring 'New Writing Forum' to the Screenwriters' Festival. This remarkable interactive platform allows selected writers an opportunity to see an extract of their work performed by professional actors, this is followed by a critique and Q&A with a leading film industry figure (TBA). |

An Audience with STEVEN MOFFAT Thursday 29th October, 7pm Cheltenham Ladies' College Award-winning writer, and new Showrunner of Doctor Who, Steven Moffat grants us a special interview in which he'll discuss the journey that has brought him to the TARDIS. Steven's episodes of Doctor Who (The Empty Child, The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, Silence in the Library) have been among the most popular but Steven's career already included hits such as Press Gang, Coupling, Chalk, Joking Apart and Jekyll. Shortly before taking over from Russell T Davies as the creative force behind Doctor Who, steven was writing the forthcoming film adaptation of TinTin for Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson and in collaboration with Mark Gatiss has penned a modern reworking of Sherlock Holmes! |
