Screenwriters' Festival 2008
About

The International Screenwriters’ Festival is dedicated to the art, craft, and business of writing for the screen. Bringing together professional industry delegates, high profile guests and new talent from around the world, the Festival provides a unique forum to debate and discuss writing dramatic scripts for film, television and new media.

The Festival is run by the not-for-profit SWF Ltd and the festival was conceived and started by Arturi Films Ltd.

The Festival Director is Arturi Films’ David Pearson, an award winning film and TV executive, producer, writer and director. The Festival Coordinator is Kenny MacDonald, who has worked in production in Films and TV and who is also an optioned screenwriter. Mick Escott is the SWF's Business Director; Mick has extensive financial experience in the theatre and arts organisations and has written a book to be published in later this year. The Screenwriters’ Festival has a Board of Directors whose Chair is Simon Relph, the distinguished film producer, who is currently developing Birdsong.

"…writing is a solitary activity and so the chance to communicate with others in the same boat, which this festival offers, is not just a relief. There are times when it's absolutely essential."

The Screenwriters' Festival has just enjoyed the success of a third consecutive year (1st -3rd July 2008) and given the immensely positive feedback a fourth Festival is anticipated in Summer 2009.

With its relaxed and creative Cotswold setting at the Manor by the Lake, we continue to offer writers, storytellers and industry professionals a forum in which to discuss their material and to develop new alliances, whilst discovering new ways of working together.
